英語でおしゃべり （TCS)
TCS活動
TCS とは“Toride Chat Square”で、“取手のおしゃべり広場”を意味します。2011年10月発足以来毎月一回開催（8月を除く）を続けてきましたが、コロナ蔓延に伴い2020年・2021年は活動を中止し、2022年4月に再開しています。
「自分の英語を人前で試してみたい」、「いろいろと刺激を受けたい」、「仕事での英語は限られたものだったので、日常英語の表現にもっと慣れたい」、「Native speakerの発音や言い回しを直接耳にしてみたい」、「自分の経験してきた英語への取り組みを紹介してみたい」などさまざまな方々がおられます。
TIFAはこのような要望を満たす努力をしてみたい方々に広場を提供してきました。年齢、資格、経験、能力、出身国などに関係なく、どなたでも歓迎です。英語が母語でない外国出身の方々も参加していますし、市内の中学校、高校で英語の先生（ALT）をしているアメリカ出身の方々にも時間があればアドバイザーとして1～2名の参加をお願いしています。
当日は数人ずつのグループを４つから５つ作り、各グループの進行係を一名ずつ決めチャティングの進行をお願いしています。途中10分の休憩を挟んでテーブルの席替えをし、参加者がなるべく多くの人と話す機会が持てるようにしています。毎月のテーマは事前にメールで全員にお知らせし充分準備ができるようにしていています。話した後は質問も出ますので対話もでき、充実感のある2時間になるでしょう。直接会場の福祉交流センター（市役所向い）へおいで下さい。
2018年度は延べ283名、2019年度は（年度途中で中止となりましたが）延べ212名の方々がTCSに参加されました。それ以前の7年間は延べ1,553名の方が参加されています。コロナウイルス感染拡大のため2020年3月から2022年3月までの24ヶ月間TCSの活動を停止しました。2022年4月に再開していますので多くの皆様のご参加をお待ちしています。
TIFA会員の方々は無料ですが、会員の方々は運営費として年間（4月～3月）1,000円をお納めいただきます。
Fun TCS
TIFA is offering the citizens of Toride and the residents coming from other countries a friendly program called TCS (Toride Chat Square in English), where people can enjoy chatting in English on designated topics. It will be opened once every month (except Aug.) at the fixed venue. People can enjoy two hours chatting in English regardless of nationality, culture, generation, and career. Chatting topics for the day are informed in advance.
Twenty to twenty-five participants will make four or five groups. Each group is assigned a prompter from among participants. Additionally, one or two native English-speaking ALTs (Assistant Language Teachers teaching English at junior/senior high) join TCS giving advice on our improper oral and written English. Reshuffling groups is done during ten minutes break between two hours.
The venue：“Toride Fukushi Kohryu Center” across from Toride City Office.
The annual participation fee is ¥1,000 per person. TIFA members are free of charge. Join TCS！
Remarks: Due to the Covid-19 infection prevalence, we have been halting TCS
activities for 24 months, Mach 2020 throughout to March 2022, then reopened the square
in April 2022. We look forward to your participation..
